I find it surprising that the Iba (Averoha bilimbi) of Negros and Southern Philippines is not the Iba or Bankiling known in Northern Philippines. Both trees produces fruits used as souring agents in dishes. Both trees have drooping leaves and the Bankiling can be recognized from afar due to its yellowing leaves.
