This plant belongs to the order Lamiales and family Vrbenaceae. It produces nice looking flowers and can form dense thickets for borders. This specimen photo was taken by Lola Let with an Iphone5S in Jordan, Guimaras.
But beware! This plant can be very invasive, crowding out native Philippine species. The worst characteristic of this plant is that it has aggressive roots which may destroy utility pipes.

This plant is a survivor from the ancient Permian age of 250 millions of years ago. Most of the current cultivated specimens thrive best in regions having winters. Our indexed specimen comes fro Californi, grown and photographed by Ela Ancheta.
